[ARC5] 1626 tubes

With all the excitement and traffic regarding use of 1625s 
in audio applications I would have guessed that by now 
someone would have found the source of the interest.

A year or more ago a fellow by the name of Bob Darrielak 
built an audio amp using 1625s as output tubes.  He called 
it the Darling amp.

No, I am not making this up, honest.

Having most of the parts needed, I built my version of the

Is it better than any audio amp I have ever used?  No, but 
it does work well and drives a set of bookshelf speakers to 
earsplitting volume with no hint of distortion.  At least 
nothing I recoqnize as distortion.
