[ARC5] 1626 tubes

Group - Interesting and fun thread. Got to thinking about how the audio
folks put so much stock into the transformer response, and tubes.

Years ago in the 1960s there was a singled ended tube RF linear
amplifier published in CQ that used 12 sweep tubes in parallel. The
idea being with proper plate voltage and current the output impedance of
the mass of tube was 50 or 70 ohms so no loading or impedance
transformation was needed. Was the first of no tune amplifiers of today
we have learned to love.

My though some young guy could come up with such a system for audio.
Neat way to get rid of that nasty old transformer, sell LOTS of tubes,
[of which only you have a life time supply], and maybe even come up with
a higher impedance line of speakers for the amplifier.

Or so, just my $0.02. Being near 70, my hearing is so bad, I'm lucky to
feel the audio. :-)
