[Antennas] Radial Wires VS a wire or screen mesh

Here is the elevated radial system I use at W4FOA.
For purposes of simplification here is how I set my system up.
I use 4 - 10 foot long aluminum pipes with an electric fence standoff
insulator at the top of each pipe. From the base of the vertical, I placed
the pipes, 10 feet out from the base and symmetrically placed at N, S, E,
and W.
>From the base of the vertical, I run 6 (your number may vary depending on
your situation)130 foot aluminum electric fence wire radials to the standoff
insulator (6 radials at the top of the pipe) and then "fanned" out from the
top of the pipe to 6 distant tie points (trees). For a total of 24 elevated
radials (or whatever you situation will allow).
I can use my riding mower as long as I am "outside" of the pipes but use a
trimming mower/weedeater to mow from the pipes to the base of the vertical.
I hope my description is clear and that it might give an idea you can adapt
for your own situation.
Works for me...hope it will work for you!

PS: Bare wire as buried radials were soon eaten up by the soil. Any buried
radials I use are now insulated and sealed at the far end to keep any
moisture from seeping in....just my experience.
