Just an FYI, moding a 40 ch PLL to 10 is just as easy as an old 23ch or less (all it takes is one xtal change and a retuning..Ive moded a few to 10FM or 10AM and that was all). A PIC makes a nice beacon controller...watch out for possible chirp though...may require some mods to get rid of it.
