Anyone having success with these?

My problem is this - in a word - QRN

The lightning crashes on 80m and 160m make these bands all but unusable here
in Florida, 12 months a year.

Even 40m is rough a lot of the time.

I was wondering about things like the old Palomar Loop, homemade resonant
loops, BILAL antennas etc.

Some DXers up in Maryland etc. used to use these small whips or inverted L
antennas for directional receiving on 160m.

Anyone got a suggestion?

I don't even have an antenna up for 160m because I can't hear ANYTHING on that
band most of the time (sure miss it too!)
