I am thinking that a good rod that is stiff, is threaded at one end, and is
bent at the other, comes in various lengths is available as bicycle
spokes. I used one long time ago in a field strength meter. I was
thinking of using one to lengthen a whip that I have but could not solve
the joining problem quickly.
