Here is a summary of some of the AM net activity in the central part of
the country:
Midwest Classic Radio Net: 7:30 AM Central Saturday mornings on 3885 kHz
preceded by the WA9ZTY Round Table starting at 6:45AM or when the
frequency is clear.
DX-60 Net: 7AM Sunday mornings Central time on 3880 khz.

Mighty Elmac Net: Wed. evenings except first Wed. of the month on 3880
kHz with a pre-net roundtable starting anytime after 5PM Central or so,
formal net start time has been variable, depending on propagation.
Collins Collectors Association First Wed. AM Net: Rolling net moving
from the east coast to the west on the first Wed. of the month.
Frequencies and times vary by region, for details see:
http://www.collinsradio.org/information/cca-nets/
Midwest Military Radio Collectors Group First Saturday AM Net: This
weekly USB/AM net is conducted in the AM mode on the first Saturday of
each month in recognition of military use of AM as the first voice
mode. 7296 kHz at 9AM Central.
While I'm not aware of any formal 160 meter nets, 1885 is most commonly
used for AM.
This is a partial list to be sure, but 3880 and 3885 are the most active
AM frequencies in the 8, 9, and Ø call districts and to our good
fortune, inexpensive crystals for both frequencies are available from:
