I can see such a thing being an aid to a ham in an area of low AM
population density. Those of us in the AM "hotbeds" might forget
that there are areas that are AM deserts -- zero activity in the
daytime (on the low bands at least). If you don't have one of these
new PC run receivers with the fish finder that covers 200 kc you are
often out of the loop.
However, "cluster" to me means one of those packet radio things.
Around 10 or 11 years ago I set up a packet station on 2 meters and it
was kind of a PITA so I dismantled it after a few months, once the
novelty wore off. That's been the extent of my foray into ham data
operating. It was good experience for the experience but I doubt if
I'd set up a station to get AM packet cluster data now.
