Yes Todd, I agree with you guys about heating them. Actually Jim suggested
that some time ago to me, but the problem is there is nothing the grab hold
of to turn them out of the forms. I did measure the diameter of these NOS
one's I have, and they come out to 0.350 on the outside of the threads.
Slightly less than 3/8". They are a half inch long, but I need to find
out what the threading is.
I am very happy with the performance of the 28 as it is, so I'm not in any
hurry at all. Just amazing audio and the bass response if exceptional.
Needless to say, it was very satisfying to bring an old rig like the
SX-28A back to life.
If you do find those slugs in the 42 are similar in size, etc., let me
know, and I will swap/trade/pay for them!!
