The gentleman that administered both novice and general for me was Joe 
Cotton  (1954) Heard all sorts of stories about what a nasty person he was. 
He was a little strict but he also had to admister probably 50 people.  I 
knew I failed the 13 WPM as I could not read it!  He said no problem, if I 
had time I would be able to fill in the skips etc!!!

Interesting that people remember their FCC examiner from so many years.
