I believe that speaker was used with the AN/GRC 106, I spent many, many
hours listening to SSB / CW / AM with that speaker during the late
seventies and throughout the eighties. If memory serves me correctly it
was an excellent speaker for copying CW but left a lot too be desired
when copying SSB or AM I do remember the tinniness that you are
referencing as being the annoyance.

Feeding it with the proper input Z, they are very 'tinny', no bass response at all. They are supposedly a 300 - 7 Khz speaker, but was wondering if that hard cone kills all the base. So, anybody that has one, do they sound as freq. restricted to you as me? Or do I have to bad speakers? Nice to use on CW, they are almost an audio filter, but on AM, audio quality is not good, but I think the way it sounds would be a plus in a very loud environment.
