That's not a true statement. DataPro has never claimed "intellectual
ownership".  In the past, Heathkit was the only authorized seller of
their replicated documents. In 2008, they sold that right to DataPro.
DataPro became the sole authorized seller of their replicated documents. 
The authorized seller has the right to copy and distribute. In effect, it
is also called a "copy right" or simply "copyright". If the company you
reference below is authorized by DataPro to be a seller or distributor,
there would be no issue.
