If my old 610e wasn't on casters I doubt I would mess with it either. My old
worn out back would not put up with moving such heavy things. If I could use
mine I would likely not touch it either. Unfortunately, the talk-back is too
bad to get even close to 100% modulation without feedback.

The modulation transformer talks back in my BC-610E too, I have just got 
used to it, maybe the day it stops is when the mod fails ;-) I have not 
tried any solutions but I did read about the capacitor across some thing. It

is just too difficult to get to the back of the TX so I have left it alone, 
It works really well with approx 200w o/p on 80m so if it aint broke etc.
