[AMRadio] Extra Class downgraded to advanced

I am not even sure what this response is relevant too. Class A license
holders were rolled in the new advanced class in 1951? The Extra was
created at that time and retained full privileges. Advanced had a little
less so they did sustain a down grade in operating privileges.
Going from 1951 to the 1980s without knowing the band changes? Interesting
that an OO card came, I was an OO and those are/were simply voluntary and
carried no authority what so ever. And, at that time I do not think there
would have even been a way to tell what class someone was in unless they
were a Novice, I believe they were the only ones with the extra letter after
the W and in WN8RPW ( mine). If I remember the Novice band then was
7175 to 7200.
My comment was made in reference to some talk about the ease of the latest
Extra test and the objections to the change. I believe the exact comment
that was made was " I know a lot of extras that took a voluntary downgrade
to advanced" apparently in protest to the FCC. That is what I do not
believe and asked for the call signs of a few of the "lot" ( still
waiting) I strongly suspect the FCC would simply say, fine just do not go
into the Extra portion of the band if you so chose.
No one would be happy with privileges taken away, but that can happen any
time and has, and you can be sure it will happen again. 73 Bernie
