The problem is that it is no longer "legal" that way!
Many laws that are enacted by our congress are not done so as they should be
either. But we have to live with them once done.
With the change in the way that we measure power the SSB guys lost a lot
more power rights than AM did. CW is the only thing that gained.
Maybe all the SSB guys should go back to running 1kw average input and let
the peak power fall where it may, which could be many kw. Would that help
the bands and make everyone happier?
Is it ok for the CB guys to run as much power as they want to also? After
all there are guys there that don't think the limit should be 5 watts.
Maybe the hams should go back to operating in the 27 MHz band. After all it
was taken away from us for a service that many think is a waste.
How about part of the 220 MHz band. That was taken away from the hams with a
less than stellar group of lobbyist.

enemy" regarding this matter.
Sounds like a revolution.
Don't forget it is "they" that grant us the privilege of operating on the
bands at all.
It is over. It is done. Why not live with it and help others learn what they
can about "how it really is"? By continuing to deny the new rules it is like
still fighting the civil war. All it does is confuse a lot of people. Tell
the history and move on.
