[AMRadio] Starting in AM

Dave,
Welcome to the 'AM Virus'. Dayton probably will be a good starting
point but I'll venture a bet there are some on the board here that have rigs
in excess of their needs. As an opposed point of the prior 'Collins'
promotion, unless you have unlimited resources, ($$$$$), DX-100's, Apache's,
and Viking I/II's can be bought for extremely reasonable prices. There are
tons of receivers out there both military and commercial that I'm sure can
find a 'niche' in your ham shack. Also, don't be afraid to ask question on
here since you will find a diverse set of answers that may make you think a
little more.
Good luck and I hope to work you on the bands.
Mod-U-Lator,
Mike(y)

I have been a ham for 20 years, but have just recently developed an interest
in AM. My interest is in a boat anchor transmitter and receiver. Any
suggestions on equipment for a not too technical person like me, and where
to find it would be appreciated. Thinking about going to Dayton. Dave,
