[AMRadio] Viking 2 Mod transformer

Robert is might be the transformer rattling the cabinet.  Are all the 
cabinet screws and screws holding other parts tight?  I think someone 
mentioned about removing the end bells and inserting a piece of wood, 
like the end of a toothpick between the bobbin and the laminations.  You 
may have to remove the transformer to do that but if it is loud enough 
it can be a source of irritation and worth the trouble.

I had a Valiant or two over the years that made the same noise and each 
time it turned out to be something on the chassis rattling.  If it is 
the transformer is rattling the case and tightening everything does not 
work, then mount the transformer on some small rubber grommets.  If you 
do this then put a ground strap from the transformer frame to the 
chassis to be certain the frame is at ground potential.
