[AMRadio] Viking 2 Mod transformer

Everything is tight went thru the entire chassis tightening things and the
end bells on the transformer were somewhat loose so I put some torque on
them. Next time I am in the radio I will go the rubber feet route and try
the toothpick trick. Again thanks

Robert is might be the transformer rattling the cabinet. Are all the
cabinet screws and screws holding other parts tight? I think someone
mentioned about removing the end bells and inserting a piece of wood,
like the end of a toothpick between the bobbin and the laminations. You
may have to remove the transformer to do that but if it is loud enough
it can be a source of irritation and worth the trouble.

I had a Valiant or two over the years that made the same noise and each
time it turned out to be something on the chassis rattling. If it is
the transformer is rattling the case and tightening everything does not
work, then mount the transformer on some small rubber grommets. If you
do this then put a ground strap from the transformer frame to the
chassis to be certain the frame is at ground potential.
