In the case of Yahoo email the Yahoo address book is on the Yahoo email
server, not in your computer.

I still receive email through my Yahoo account but I have erased all the
addresses in my Yahoo address book. I have not had a problem with Spam from
my account since I did that. But before I did it I was hit 3 times.
