A friend of mine has given me 3 Valiants for a  project.  He wants one good 
one from all 3 !!  I looked at them some  and said I might make 2 but one 
is parts only.  I have a question I hope  someone will answer.  I need to 
know the output frequencies from the vfo  in the 3 different positions.  These 
rigs were butchered up badly by  CBers and I know that because the funny 
little chunk of metal that changes the  vfo from the bandswitch was missing on 
one and loose on the other.  They  were both stuck in the 11 meter position. 
 The outputs I get are ok for  160 and 80 meters.  When I switch to 40 the 
output is 7.1 and stays there  until the 10 meter band is selected and then 
goes to 14 .  It is 13 when  11 meters is selected.  I think by looking at 
the manual the second  position is supposed to be in the 7.1 range from 40 
thru 10 meters and the  doubler gets you up to the right frequency.  Any help  
appreciated.
Also  just finished converting a broadcast BTA  500mx to 160 and looking 
for QSOs on 1885.  Hope to have lots of fun with  it this winter.  73  Rich
