   In years gone by, I would gleefully cause confusion/consternation in 
well-meaning electronics distributor counter clerks by asking for a 
'Number 47 Light Emitting Resistor' or similar. (This was of course before 
LEDs became ubiquitous)


   When they would come back after a long search and inform me they didn't 
have that kind of device yet, I would offer that Edison perfected them and 
that I could see several from where I was standing.


   Most of those people took it in good humor.....    ;}
