Hi Dan -

Yes, Epay is here to stay and is just one of many ways to find items online that
you might not find as easily(or at all) in your local area. To me, it is 'a'
resource though, not 'the' only source. The best deal I've seen on there would
be parts - meters, tubes, sockets....most users seem to want the shiney
collector-quality radio, parts seem to often go begging. So do the parts sets,
donor rigs.

And as far as the ISP problems, yes - I've had the exact same thing happen a
couple times myself. It's the nature of the beast, I guess. If it's something I
really need to complete a rig or whatever, I'll bid a bit earlier instead of the
last 10 seconds. Worse than that, I've been waiting to bid and gotten distracted
for a few minutes, and didn't get back in time. Then there's always not bidding
high enough, but it's all determined by how much you need(or want) the item.

There are some very good classified sites online that warrant a look, too.
QTH.com is one, I've found several nice rigs there and had a fair amount of luck
getting responses to my requests for ARC 5 gear. Now, there's something that
used to be *everywhere* for next to nothing.

Time has been the issue for me the last few years. Since I don't have the time
to truly get into my radio room and stay there as often as I'd like, I grab bits
and pieces here and there to feed the radio habit instead. It makes for a lot of
projects, but helps overcome the fear that I don't have enough radio projects to
do or enough 'stuff' in general.
