Then DON'T 'telegraph' your bidding!
Fighters watch for the movements of their opponent
in order to win a bout, and it's perfectly acceptable
there, rather STUPID if one doesn't pay attention.

Good points, Todd!
Not only that, but there are "TRUE SCUM" that frequent
eBait that "USE" info gathered from those that KNOW
what they are doing regarding a certain type of item,
just by watching their bid history and current bid lists,
and then outbidding that 'knowledgable' person by a few
bucks thereby STEALING their 'intellectual property'.
And I won't EVEN get into the topic about certain sellers
that hire a shill to inflate the bidding and/or create
a frenzy just so they can squeeze the last penny of
profit out of the item. IMHO, these are the kind of
sellers that need to leave eBait! They're just there
to rip people off... And 'fair business practices' is
not a term in their vocabulary... JMHO :)
If you want something ? Don't let ANYone know you're
even interested in it (or have seen it), much less what
your bid is going to be until the last few minutes.
This also helps to keep the going price (FMV) for an
item to a reasonable (read accurate/true) level.
Once egos and bidding frenzys (+ shills) get involved,
you might as well kiss the FMV for that type of item,
GoodBye!
I've seen this happen specifically with the R-390 units.
Before they started getting put on eBait one could buy
one for between $75 and $150, NOW with their inflated
prices (due in large to shilling - I believe) you can't
touch even a blue-striper for less than $300-500, and
for one in even low quality working condition ? $700!
I've given up on getting one, unless an angel comes my
way delivering one, some day... Or I'm somehow able to
pick up the modules one at a time :( But even at that,
I saw an AF board for one go for over $200 once on eBait!

Bruce
