[ADXA] early days on our 75m SSB morning net

I got my license in 1963 - remember talking to K5QHS on 75 meters some in
the mid 60's before I went off to college and then the Air Force. I got on
3.948 quite a bit with the group. I remember Marion Prior, K5KFY, Jim
Crowly, W5iRG, Sid Phillips, WA5AUZ (Jim and Sid were DX'ers, along with
Dick Freeling), Leonard Petrus, K5GMG, Ross Beard, W5FUW, and others.
There were some interesting "code words" used. If you needed to say
Bull****, the code word was BOOMI. I think I have that right. Anyway, a
great bunch of guys and interesting times. I remember one time we were
talking about satellites and Dickie used his 2M FM rig, keying CW with the
mic button, to work me on one of the satellites. He hadn't thought about
it before, and after a 5 minute discussion, he figured out how to do it
with what was in front of him. Dick was truly an outstanding individual in
all aspects. I still remember that voice and that resounding "BOOMI".
