I was in the US Navy and stopped at the Seychelles in late 1970 while on a
9 month Indian Ocean cruise aboard the USS Glennon (DD-840). A bunch of us
took a tour up to the RCA site and I took pictures of the site and my ship
way down below. Maybe Bill was inside the fenced in building. You could
see the shadow of the ship on the bottom of the harbor because of the
absolutely crystal clear water. Now, if I could just find those slides.
Oh for camera technology of today back then. I have over 8,800 slides I've
already converted to .jpg images and cataloged, that are so bad from 35mm
slide film. I have not converted the latter part of the curse to .jpg
yet. They never were very good to begin with because of the cameras I had
back then.

I did have a Heathkit SW receiver on board and found a way to get a wire
outside for an antenna. It wasn't the greatest, but I could hear the BBC
and VOA most of the time. The BFO wasn't very steady so SSB was terrible
at best.
