I attended the OZK picnics in Burns Park but I don't remember who organized them. I remember Ollie Warren (WA5KJT, with a later vanity call) seemed to be involved, and I’m sure Curtis was also. It was called the OZK picnic, but really was an early hamfest, with many of the APN (Arkansas Phone Net) guys there, as well as Arkansas hams in general. I guess it plus the Eureka Springs hamfest were the only ones at that time.

Anyone remember? I sent Dennis the email below earlier this morning asking if he recalled and since OZK became has become a topic here I thought I would ask. That was the first "hamfest" I ever attended in either '72 or '73. Of course, back then that was the only "hamfest" close by.
