Fine.  I sure wish folks would "read" before commenting and "guessing".

Sure I can use up a chunk of ham spectrum for WSPR since *someone* 
*decided* that 474.2 was a good frequency.  No problem.

IF you had read my e-mail and saw what Fritz had recommended, then 
you would have understood why I was planning to beacon outside the ham band.

I already told what power I am running (4w EIRP*).  I filed with UTC 
on Sept. 15 and received nothing back, so I am proceeding with use of 
the ham band.

I figure that my initial operation will be beaconing since there is 
only one other active station closer than 1300 miles on 630m.

Two things will benefit from beaconing:
1) propagation info (not only for DX but also around AK, if a few 
start monitoring WSPR up here)
2)  my activity will provide a signal for those that may be curious 
about 630m.

Perhaps that will encourage more up here to get on 630m.

*Note: FCC rules specify for ham use on 630m in terms of EIRP and not 
ERP (as XSH was specified).
