[50mhz] IC 7000 noise blanker question

Ed,

Back in the day (1970s/1980s), I cured ignition noise on my cars with
high-resistance spark plug wires. (This was well before the time of receiver
noise blanker circuits that actually worked.) These wires were after-market
products that were carried by auto parts stores specifically for the purpose
of reducing radio ignition noise. I don't know if this stuff is still
available or if it is deemed compatible with modern ignition systems, but it
worked great then. Basically, the higher resistance in the wires softened
the rise and fall time of the ignition pulse, which cut down on harmonic
transients without appreciably lowering the effective voltage at the plugs.
Due to the very low current in ignition circuits, the increase in I^2R loss
was minimal. As I recall, there was a barely perceptible degradation in
engine performance, but having a quiet receiver was well worth the cost.
