[50mhz] IC 7000 noise blanker question

Hi Gang I currently use a IC 706 MKIIG in my Mustang, the Noise blanker does not deter the pulse engine noise with the noise blanker off its S 6 to S7 with it on its S 3 To S 4
it gets worst the lower in Freq you go..

Has anyone done a comparison between both with the noise blanker.
any inputs appreciated. dont want to blow 1400 bucs for no reason..

I had a Kenwood TS 480 mobile in the Mustang the the noise blanker in the Kenwood out preformed the 706 MKIIG by at least 1 S unit to 2.
