well, I use mine mobile for 6m and HF SSB, and FM repeaters on 440. I
mounted the control head by the top of my windshield, above the rear view
mirror so I could keep my eyes up when making any adjustments. But - I don't
find myself making many adjustments. Once I had the small number of buttons
memorized, it was easy to change bands and modes. I seldom find any need to
get into the menu stuff (most often I need to change the display brightness
for day and night ;-).

I do use the 100D for operating on camping trips. The DSP and other
filtering is simple and effective: not the world's best receiver, but
decent! In fact, the DSP proved quite helpful recently to pull some marginal
6m CW contacts out of the noise.

In both cases the 100D benefits from attaching a decent speaker. In the
mobile I use an old Motorola Syntor speaker box under my seat.

hope thsi helps! - 73 - jeff wk6i - DM13

ps: K6LIG is calling now from DM12.
