[50mhz] FT100D

My mobile station consists of the FT-100D and the ATAS-100 antenna system.
After getting the ATAS-100 properly grounded, I find this to be anefficient
(albeit expensive) setup for six meters. I do use the rig for the
occassional 2 metre or 70 centimeter contact, but it is primarily for six
meters.

Being menue-intensive, just like the IC-706MKIIG, there is a learning curve
before your comfort level rises in the mobile environment, but once
comfortable with the operation of the rig and the ease of making neccessary
adjustments, I find it easy to operate and a pleasure to use.

Hope to hear you on SIX!

Subject: [50mhz] FT100D

Hi All:
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who owns and uses a Yaesu FT100D
on six meters, especially if it is a later model. I have seen some real
horror stories about the ones manufactured before year 2001 reading the
reviews from users on the AC6V website review section. I like the
features it has especially for use on CW. I have heard that it has some
problems with use on FM all bands such as 2, 6, and 440. How do you like
it for mobile as far as ease of operating?
You can send to me off the reflector if you wish, not to clog the
reflector with things that may not interest all.
Thanks, in advance.
