[1000mp] Not working on bands

John, I saw your reply to the "Not Working on Bands" email. My MEM/CH 
encoder has also failed after 30 years of service. ( Bought the rig new 
in 1996) Were you able to find a replacement encoder? I do have the 
service manual and did find the part number and I think I was able to 
cross reference it to a part from Digi-Key. I looks like a real pain to 
replace. How did your replacement job go? I built a homebrew FH-2 remote 
switch (the schematic and parts values are in the ops manual) and can 
chance the Memory channels manually but not the frequency steps.
