On my 20 years old webpage you can find an illustrated description on how to replace the jumpy clarifier encoder. It is the same procedure to replace the MEM/CH one.
I would appreciate if someone can share the DuneKey part numbers.

John, I saw your reply to the "Not Working on Bands" email. My MEM/CH
encoder has also failed after 30 years of service. ( Bought the rig new
in 1996) Were you able to find a replacement encoder? I do have the
service manual and did find the part number and I think I was able to
cross reference it to a part from Digi-Key. I looks like a real pain to
replace. How did your replacement job go? I built a homebrew FH-2 remote
switch (the schematic and parts values are in the ops manual) and can
chance the Memory channels manually but not the frequency steps.

Thanks and 73, DAN W6DAN.

My main receiver was also 3db down on RX compared to the sub RX and it was a faulty roofing filter (aftermarket INRAD) - which I removed and put the radio back to standard.
