[1000mp] Audio Sounds "Tinny"

I was told by a local operator that I have no low frequencies in my audio
that it sounds like I am talking through a CW filter and because of that no
drive.  He said I had the RF signal, just not the audio that should go with
it.  The radio has been in a box for almost 4 years what could have gone
wrong on it, or do I have some switches in the wrong place?  I do have the
MD-100 desk mike, but he said when I went to the hand mike that it was the
same.  I did do a full reset of the radio so could something in there got
undone that would have caused this?  I just remember there are some hidden
(9-?) menu settings and I remember setting something on that way back when,
but no clue what it was or what it got set to.

 

Any ideas?
