FSK uses the 4 pin DIN in the rear panel of the FT-1000MP, not the 5 pin DIN.

The 5 pin DIN connector is for AFSK (PKT Mode) audio input, audio output and PTT. (Yaesu calls them DATA IN, DATA OUT and PTT.)

The 4 pin DIN connector is for FSK (RTTY Mode) FSK keying, audio output, and PTT. (Yaesu calls them SHIFT, RX AF OUT and TX(PTT)).

The SignalLink USB includes a sound card to provide the audio in/out between your computer and the rig. The SignalLink USB also generates an audio activated PTT keying signal ("VOX"). (The FT-1000/MP family does not have VOX functionality in PKT mode.)

The SignaLink USB does not provide support for FSK keying. If you need FSK, you will need to provide additional hardware interface for your software to key the SHIFT pin in the 4 pin DIN connector of the FT-1000MP. You can use the SignaLink USB's input sound card to bring the audio (RX AF OUT) from the rig.

This page at Tigertronics web site provides the jumper information for AFSK:

They will sell you a pre-made DIP jumper module for the FT-1000MP, SLMOD5PD to do what is shown in the previous web page. See

http://www.tigertronics.com/slmodules.htm

They also will sell you a pre-made cable (SLUSB5PD) that goes between the RJ-45 connector on the SignaLink USB and the 5 pin DIN connector on the FT-1000MP for AFSK (RTTY, PSK31, etc).

If you want a commercial FSK interface, you will need something like the MicroHAM digiKeyer II.

Some software modems (fldigi and cocoaModem, for example) will also support the "p-FSK" or "pseudo-FSK" method that is available on the microHAM USB Interface III. p-FSK uses a single on-off keyed tone (not the tone pair of AFSK) from the computer. The on-off tone is converted by the hardware interface into an FSK keying signal for the rig. Not many software supports it, so check around first before you choose this option. Not many hardware interfaces support p-FSK either.
