Or just turn the RF PWR all the way down and see if it still happens. I
have trouble with RF in the monitor of my Mark 5, but not in the
sidetone. In fact, I discovered at one point that unless I program a
couple of milliseconds of lead time into my Winkey, my radio would clip the
first dot of every transmission. However, this was *not* audible in the
sidetone, just in the monitor.
