Guys you would agree
That...
It is desirable to be able to use my other FT1000MP which has been delegated
to a dark corner turned OFF.
These damn CONTROL OSC at 25.000 is producing a garbage signal in the 6M
band between S5 and S9..
My FT1000MKV has same problem but it is weaker and ends up on top of VK6
beacon on 50.066.
The Mark 1 ends up drifting right though 50.110 and up onto 50.125.
Anyone who has a Mark 1 or Mark V and works 6M band and leaves that radio
turned on is building a beacon right into their ham shack.
Plug in any peripheral like MIKE KEY or EARPHONES and its like an antenna
plugged in feeding the mV signal from the Control Board out into the shack..
Q? can I use a xtal straight out to solder in place of the C/O?
If not why not?
Q? Can the osc be padded down several kHz below 24.9999 easily?
Q?. Can I make up a little breadboard osc and feed the signal/carrier into
the ports of the C/O on the control board?
We used to do this with carpaine's and a synthesised signal to change
frequencies.
Q? What is critical about the CONTROL OSC could you go to CAR-PHONE'S 24
MHz?
OR UP TO 26mhz?
I hand this over to the tinkering types who know this IC circuit stuff
thanks in advance.
