Settings that work and appreciation.

All I can say is there is one thing better than the FT1000MP and the IPO.
The FTV1000 with its dual pre-amps feeding an FT1000MP.

I have been experimenting with the FLAT and TUNED features and the IPO ON 
and OFF.

Most sensitive listening is FLAT IPO OFF PRE 1ON.

It is in this position IO heard a CQ call from T31DX on weekend 5400 km 6M 
es.

For local Es
IPO ON
PRE2.
FRONT END TUNED.
IDBT ON

You can listen with quiet background noise and any signal you hear you can 
work.

Which makes up for the woeful drop in gain turning IPO ON.

Still messing with the blanker.
Its not a great Blanker which is why the FT650 was such a crock.
You gotta hear 'em to work em regardless of power output.


So far after a weeks use.
P29NB QSO 3000 km
T31DX heard.5400 km
Several VK6 2000 km VK8 3000 km  and ZL's 2500 km worked.

The reason i did not work the T31 was my keyer had mono plug and when I 
plugged it into the FT1000MP it went crazy sending dah di dahs.
