[1000mp] monitor level

Your hearing level may be declining with age and the bleed-through
from earpiece to the mic head may be causing the 6Kc. squeal.

Either switch to a highly-isolated earpiece or reduce the audio gain, but
doing that will affect your ability to monitor your transmitted audio
quality.

In broadcast what I've done is to insert a diode in the monitor headphone
line
and to reverse the polarity the same way that VOX circuits do in the AntiVOX
wiring, and that reduces the possibility of the squeal.

Subject: [1000mp] monitor level

Recently I have noticed a squeal through my Heil headset while monitoring my
voice on phone through my headset. I have noticed that this goes away with
turning my monitor switch down to about the 10 O'clock position.... This is
first time I have ever had this happen and was wondering if others have
experienced same?? I have notice same using my boom mic and just the
headset. Had the rig three years and this is a first for me. Perhaps I
am running the monitor too loud, or too high, and this is causing my issue??

Tnx Jon k8ly
