[1000mp] monitor level

Recently I have noticed a squeal through my Heil headset while monitoring my voice on phone through my headset.  I have noticed that this goes away with turning my monitor switch down to about the 10 O'clock position.... This is first time I have ever had this happen and was wondering if others have experienced same??     I have notice same using my boom mic and just the headset.   Had the rig three years and this is a first for me.   Perhaps I am running the monitor too loud, or too high, and this is causing my issue??
