Hi Frans, the following quote were taken from reviews on Eham:

"The CN101L is -NOT- a true peak reading meter even though it has an
average/peak selector awitch. It is a passive meter and does not have any
active components within it as a true peak reading meter does.

The Daiwa CN-101L watt meter is passive RMS Peak Meter. The meter does not
show true Peak to Peak wattage. The meter shows the average peak power of a
given amount of wattage. 100 watts CW on a passive watt meter is the same as
100 watts CW on a Bird 43. 100 watts SSB on a passive RMS Peak watt meter
will show 70.7 watts on voice peaks. The reason why is the meter movement
can not keep up with the fast changes in the voice peaks of a SSB signal.
The meter up date is around 1 to 1.5 seconds and a passive watt meter can
not display the changes fast enough."

markVfield

Dear Scott,
tnx for the reply.... did some more testing and must say I'm not satisfied
by my own results.
I'm using a Daiwa CN-101 SWR/PWR meter... and have the switch set to PEP.
I know the meter can not be trusted but it gives you an idea, still have the
ts850 picture in mind Hi.
Perhaps I'm suffering from some RFI ..feed back so will do the same using a
dummyload.
One thing I also noticed... I can barley see a difference playing with the
carrier offset not using the PROC. so I have a huge difference in audio
between no PROC and using the PROC.
The dynamic element I'm using is a high quality one but wide range
20.....12.000Hz. (will get an HC-5) What I will do next, take the radio to a
friend of my he has several FT1000MP's and see if my radio causes the
problem or its me who have it between the ears.. Hi keep you posted.

Best regards,

Frans... (pa5ca)
