<>For a true discussion of audio one would have to know the frequency 
response of every listeners ear. If you have not had a hearing test
go get one and you might find that your hearing is a lot more messed 
upthan you think (remember we are all old timers) so for one person to 
say one radio sounds better than another would really depend on the 
person doing the listening also. But I do agree the less filtering and 
less noise reduction you use the
better the output audio response will be. I use a IC-756PRO and a 
FT1000MP and a old TS-850SAT and find them to all be very nice radios
that all have there good and bad points. Also don't forget the FUN 
FACTOR some radios are just more fun to use period. I find that the
756 with the bandscope to be the most FUN.
