I'm not sure they are talking about audio quality such as in hi-fi,
but audio that is clear and intelligible. A final product in which
you can year the tiny signal in band noise or a dx pileup.
Many out there found the MP/MKV to be "hissy". In fact INRAD came
out with a amp to help the receiver along. I wonder if the Yaesu
marketing did win big with their contest theme. If you look at the
Sherwood Engineering receiver test data you will see the MKV came out
quite a ways down the list with the Orion on top and the 7800 and 775
close behind the Orion, interesting?
A question for the group. What is it about contesting that you that
participate find interesting? Years ago (paper log days) I came in
SS seventh from the Central division, but since then my interest has
waned big time.
