[1000mp] I was barred from the ft9000-ft2000 yahoo group

And your point in posting this disgust with Yaesu, the MKV, 9000, 2000,
Yahoo and your endorsement for the Ten-Tec products to the 1000MP list
is......?????

You complain of them bringing products to market before their "development
is fully realized" and then follow by complaining they are not releasing the
200W model because they are working out the bugs. Would you rather them
sell you one now?

Any new product that is brought to market has it's share of issues that have
to be worked out. All manufacturers experience that. It's the price the
guys pay for having to have the very latest and greatest.

Look at the American car industry. You state that if an American product
were brought to market the way Yaesu brings it's products to market Congress
would be involved. Everyone knows you don't every buy the first model year
of any new car...they always seem to have issues. I have experienced it
myself on several occasions....there are only recalls issued on things that
kill or injure people consistently....no Congressional involvement there.

I'm quite sure Ten-Tec has had it's share of new model woes as well...none
of them are perfect....

It's a hobby John...take a breath...:-)

I've owned Yaesu, Icom, Kenwood and Drake in over 30 years in Ham
Radio....there is no such think as the Holy Grail of radio's...they all have
their blemishes. (Do wish Drake would come back though...) I always come
back to the Yaesu HF gear..(the stuff from a few years behind the bleeding
edge technology bubble though)

The Orion II looks nice but personally I have decided I don't want any radio
with everything displayed on one central display....loose it in 5 years and
you have no radio....period! There are already issues with getting the
earlier Icom displays and I don't think it's been 5 years...I've been
impressed that Yaesu has avoided that design concept and opted to offer the
band data on a separate standard computer style monitor....

Frankly I don't see how any of them make any money at all when you consider
the R&D costs to bring a new product to market and how few are
sold....relative to other consumer markets the Amateur market is very small!

I haven't posted any of this to further annoy you but to point out that we
are fortunate that there are as many manufactures still in the market
building products for us to use considering how small a group we are and how
many new radio's are sold each year. Each of these manufacturers survive
because of the commercial and military markets not the Ham Radio
market.....we should probably give them a break!

Cecil....
