Are you referring to the 1000MP?
According the 1000MP schematic, there are three capacitor where the
mains enters the Power Supply unit. They are C1, C2, and C3.
You better check your main line coming in for proper AC polarity.
These capacitors are there (1000MP) to block out high frequency from the
switching circuit to the line.

hi,

Some of you who have the schematics can probably tell how important is the 
capacitor C9005 in MP circuit. It is right where the mains enters and it 
just blew in my rig.

What I did is I joined the neutral and ground in the shack and when I 
connected MP this cap exploded completely. Is this normal? Anyway, once it 
was removed the rig is working again.

Is the cap needed? What is it's purpose? Should I replace it?
