[1000mp] FT-1000MP Mark V Field Discontinued?

The initial price of the Mark V Field makes (made) it an excellent buy.
Adding optional filters made it not quite so excellent a value, but
still OK if you added filters sparingly. Dual receive made the radio
very attractive at its price, and the front end was well engineered for
contesting/DXing.

I'll probably keep it for a while since I could sell it now only at a
considerable discount. I've a hunch that the value of the Mark Vs will
stabilize once folks get a handle on the new FT-2000, and its price
point. Will it have true dual receivers like the FTdx9000 or same-band
dual receivers like the Mark Vs I wonder? I don't look for super
discounting to continue as with the FT-1000 MPs since the cost of
developing the new software-defined rigs is so great. Looks like Kenwood
is the only ham manufacturer left that still does analog (base station)
rigs.
