[1000mp] FT1000MP and PK232 FSK connections

I have not thrown them away. Two are on the operating desk (modified) and
some stock units are stored.
I feed both MMTTY and the modified 232 into windows in Writelog. MMTTY
usually wins, especially if you know how to manipulate all the options it
provides. Once in a while, the modified 232 wins. I need to build a box to
OR the two transmitters to have FSK from either.
No, I'm not throwing them away---just not recommending them for serious,
competitive RTTY.

Ted/ Garry
Kinda' agree..the 232 was a box built for another purpose....although I do
not consider the PK232 as "no longer even a reasonable performer."...
I've been using a pair of 232's for years...and still do. I've found them to
be very responsive and, in fact, I find them to be on par with
MMTTY...These 232's have worked all but 4 countries!...
As for hooking it up, just use the FSK output and plug it into the RTTY
input of the MP...also, I use the PTT...
Using the FSK, you can use the tight 250 filter in the MP (if so
equipped)...great for noisy bands...
So, don't throw away the PK232's just yet!...especially for BAUDOT RTTY...
Best Regards....
