I have an original MP and had Mark V for a very long time. Used them both
for SO2R in Contesting and DXing. I didn't find why Mark V should be better
than original MP rather than having more output power.
With all necessary filters and roofing filter original MP is a killer radio.
Despite using Band pass filters on both radio I managed to blow Mark V's
fron end 2 times in 3 years. At the same time had no problems with MP.
Also had borrowed Field for a few weeks and was not impressed with it.
Filter selection procedure on both Mark V and Field is way far behind the
comfort offered by original MP.
Considering price on used original MP and its performance it's the best 2nd
hand radio on the market now.
FWIW. Just MHO.
