[1000mp] Digital modes

Hello
            I am trying to set up my digital modes on the field using the 
socket on the back of the Rig marked pkt. I am using the right button on the 
front panel

        The trouble I am having is lack of output from the rig, I here the 
modulation on my other set. My interface works perfectly ok if I use the 
Mic. i/p socket There appears to be a lack of gain at this point ( PKT 
Socket)is this correct? any other valid would be appreciated.
