     Good luck.  I also use a MP and Quadra.  It's a real joy to have a 
seamless 1200 watt transceiver!

     For what it's worth, I use a MicroHam MicroKeyer with my Dell Windows 
XP machine.  It creates a variety of virtual serial ports assessable by USB 
devices and much more.  It isn't cheap but it really works well and allows 
me to switch between different contest and general logging programs and with 
a mouse clcik it changes the virtual serial ports and audio connections as

     Regarding logging and rig programs, you may want to look at the DX labs 
series of applications.  I gave up my expensive logging programs and 
switched to this one in August.  Best part - it is free.  Please see
